Why choose all-in-one e-invoicing software ?
With the French reform, an invoice is no longer just a document: it is a flow of structured data moving between your business, an approved platform and the tax authorities. Each invoice must also include new mandatory details, such as the customer’s SIREN number, the type of transaction (supply of goods or services), the delivery address if it differs from the billing address, or the option to pay VAT on debits.
E-invoicing software like Dirigeoo handles these requirements for you: mandatory details are built into your templates, the Factur‑X format is generated automatically and every invoice is sent to the right platform. You keep invoicing as usual while compliance happens in the background.
E-invoicing is also an opportunity: invoices received faster, statuses visible in real time and simpler bookkeeping. Combined with Dirigeoo’s dashboards and reminders, it helps you manage your cash flow better. To learn more, read our article e-invoicing becomes the norm from 2026 or find out who Dirigeoo is for.

E-invoicing: mistakes to avoid
E-invoicing makes management easier, provided you prepare for it properly. Here are the most common mistakes we see among small business owners.
Thinking a PDF sent by email is enough. A standard PDF invoice is not an e-invoice under the reform: you need a structured format (Factur‑X, UBL or CII) sent through an approved platform.
Waiting until September 2027. Reception is already mandatory and your largest suppliers are already issuing e-invoices. Better to get familiar with it now than in a rush.
Neglecting customer data quality. An incorrect SIREN number or an incomplete address can cause an invoice to be rejected. Use the transition to update your customer records.
Forgetting e-reporting. Sales to consumers and international transactions must also be reported. E-invoicing software like Dirigeoo sends them automatically. Check where you stand with our page are you ready for e-reporting 2027?

E-invoicing: your questions
What exactly is an e-invoice?
A simple PDF sent by email is not an e-invoice under the reform. An e-invoice relies on structured data (such as the Factur‑X format) that goes through an approved platform so it can be read and processed automatically.
Does e-invoicing apply to all businesses?
Yes: every VAT-registered business established in France is concerned, including freelancers and micro-entrepreneurs. Only the issuing timeline varies with company size.
Does e-invoicing cost extra with Dirigeoo?
No, compliance is included in every Dirigeoo plan, including the Free plan. No add-on module and no hidden costs.
What is e-reporting?
E-reporting covers transactions that do not go through the standard e-invoicing flow, such as sales to consumers (B2C) or international sales. This data must still be sent to the tax authorities; Dirigeoo takes care of it automatically. To check whether you are ready, take our e-reporting 2027 readiness test.
What happens if I am not ready in time?
Beyond the risk of penalties, not being ready can block the reception of your supplier invoices and delay your payments. To learn more, visit the official French tax website impots.gouv.fr.
Can I keep working with my accountant?
Of course. Your invoices and their statuses remain accessible and exportable at any time. Need support? Discover our accounting support.
What is an approved platform?
An approved platform (formerly called a PDP, or partner dematerialisation platform) is a private operator registered by the French state. It sends your e-invoices to your customers, receives those from your suppliers and transmits the required data to the tax authorities. With Dirigeoo, you connect directly from your account.
What is the Factur-X format?
Factur‑X is a hybrid Franco-German format: a human-readable PDF that embeds a structured XML file that software can read. It is one of the three formats accepted for e-invoicing in France, along with UBL and CII.
